You know the saying? Actions speak louder than words. It's a rather common saying. I disagree with it. Kind of like Christine disagreeing that a burden shared is a burden halved. Okay she didn't really disagree with it, but whatever, I'm getting off the point. (again)

Actions undoubtably show a person's feeling, it clearly describes what that person is thinking. Actions can give people hope, despair, etc. But words. Have you ever read a book that after putting it down, you are still mesmerised with it? Glued to the impact of the words? That after that you start to think, and sometimes your opinions change, or you start to see the world in a different light.

Words influence you, there is no doubt about that. They leave a lasting impression on you. Actions make you feel better or worse, but a lot of the time only for a few moments, although sometimes actions Do speak louder than words. Words strike a chord, a few chords even, deep in your heart. If they are chosen correctly.

There is no doubt that 'a picture speaks a thousand words'. But what will these thousand words say? They could say much more than that picture.

Every single person has the power to change, to influence others, with their mouth. But they must mean these words, and only that way will the true meaning of the words come flowing out.

To take for example, though not a real life person, but an interesting character nonetheless, Dorian Gray. Lord Henry, on the day they met, with his speeches of what he felt was right, and wrong, and the like, especially his perspective that beauty was far more worthy than intelligence. With words did he affect Dorian Gray so strongly that it almost forced him to make that oath that destroyed his life. The oath that all the sins and the aging and the slow stripping away of his exquisite beauty would be transferred to his potrait.

Each word that we utter has the power to change a person's life. I know that sounds stupid, but in some cases, it really is true.
